In yoga, obstacles are called Kleshas and the purpose of our practice is to move past them. In this class we tackle the third klesha which is Raga or Attachment. Attachment is an intrinsic part of human nature. It leads to happiness, which in turn encourages attachment. We let likes and personal preferences dictate the way we look, perceive, and deal with the world and our own expectations.
Creative, fluid and strong this is a strong leg focused practice that will strengthen the thighs, hips and butt!
We use getting up and down in quiet shiva pose as a transition to Vira 3 and stepping back confidently as we contemplate what obstacles lie ahead. Lots of balancing, hopping, arm balancing and inversion work in this one. We even do some mild binds to get us ready for one legged crow. It's sweaty and fun!
