Dharma Theme: As we kick off the Fall into Fit challenge, we start by exploring the Root Chakra, specifically the importance of planting new roots both on and off our yoga mats. How can we expect to grow into strong, flourishing beings without firm roots?
Physical Purpose: An energetic flow with an emphasis on poses that ground us throughout our yoga practice and support our growth. We will begin by taking our time to warm up our bodies so that we feel strongly rooted on our mats as we begin to flow. A mid-class series of Sun Salutations will allow for a sense of heat and energy to build within our bodies, and finally we will use that sense of fire to make our way into our final challenge, Eka Pada Galavasana (Flying Pigeon Pose). Class will conclude with a guided cool down where practitioners will be encouraged to reflect on where they can plant new roots in their lives.
